Creating a Product Listing

A well-crafted product listing is crucial for attracting buyers and generating sales. This guide walks you through creating an effective listing on the SillyHost Marketplace.

Accessing the Listing Tool

1. Log into your SillyHost account and go to the Seller Dashboard
2. Click Add New Product
3. Select the product category that best fits your item

Product Information

Fill in the following details carefully:

• Product title – Choose a clear, descriptive title that includes relevant keywords. For example, "Responsive Business Landing Page Template" is better than "My Template v1."
• Description – Write a detailed description covering features, use cases, technologies used, and what makes your product stand out. Use formatting to make it scannable.
• Category and tags – Select the most relevant category and add tags to improve discoverability in search results.
• Price – Set a competitive price. Research similar products on the marketplace to understand the pricing landscape. You can offer introductory pricing or bundle discounts.

Uploading Your Product Files

1. Package your product as a ZIP file containing all necessary files
2. Include a README or documentation file with installation instructions
3. Ensure no unnecessary files (node_modules, .DS_Store, etc.) are included
4. Upload the ZIP file using the product file uploader — maximum file size is 500MB

Screenshots and Previews

• Upload at least 3 high-quality screenshots showing your product in action
• The first image becomes the thumbnail — make it visually appealing at small sizes
• Include both desktop and mobile views if applicable
• If possible, provide a live preview URL so buyers can try before they buy

Licence Selection

Choose the appropriate licence type for your product:

• Regular Licence – Buyer can use the product in a single end project that is not sold to others
• Extended Licence – Buyer can use the product in a project that is sold to others or used in a SaaS application

Review and Submit

Before submitting, preview your listing to see how it will appear to buyers. Once you click Submit for Review, our quality team will evaluate the product within 2-3 business days. You will receive an email notification when your product is approved or if changes are required.

Keep your listings updated with the latest versions of your product to maintain high ratings and customer satisfaction.
