Configure Your Email on Android Devices

You can easily add your SillyHost email account to your Android phone or tablet. Most Android devices use the Gmail app or a built-in Email app, and both support custom email accounts.

Required Information

  • Email address: Your full email (e.g., you@yourdomain.co.uk)
  • Password: Your email account password
  • Incoming server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.co.uk on port 993 (SSL)
  • Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.co.uk on port 465 (SSL)

Using the Gmail App

  1. Open the Gmail app and tap your profile icon in the top right.
  2. Tap Add another account.
  3. Select Other from the list of email providers.
  4. Enter your full email address and tap Next.
  5. Select Personal (IMAP) as the account type.
  6. Enter your password and tap Next.
  7. For the incoming server, enter mail.yourdomain.co.uk. Ensure the port is set to 993 and security type is SSL/TLS.
  8. For the outgoing server, enter mail.yourdomain.co.uk with port 465 and security type SSL/TLS.
  9. Configure your sync frequency and notification preferences, then tap Next.
  10. Give the account a name and set your display name, then tap Next to finish.

Using Samsung Email App

If you are using a Samsung device, open the Email app and follow similar steps. Choose Other or IMAP account and enter the same server details listed above. Samsung devices may auto-detect some settings, but always verify them manually.

Common Issues

  • Authentication failed: Verify your email and password are correct in cPanel.
  • Cannot connect: Check that you are using the correct ports and SSL is enabled.
  • Certificate warning: Accept the certificate or use your server's hostname from cPanel.
