Send and Receive Your Domain Email Through Gmail

You can use Gmail's interface to manage your SillyHost email account. This allows you to send and receive emails from your custom domain address directly within Gmail, without needing a separate email client.

Step 1: Enable POP3 or IMAP in cPanel

Before configuring Gmail, ensure your email account exists in cPanel. Gmail's "Check mail from other accounts" feature uses POP3 to fetch incoming mail.

Step 2: Add Your Email to Gmail (Receiving)

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click the gear icon and select See all settings.
  3. Go to the Accounts and Import tab.
  4. Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account.
  5. Enter your full email address (e.g., info@yourdomain.co.uk) and click Next.
  6. Select Import emails from my other account (POP3) and click Next.
  7. Enter your username (full email address), password, and POP server: mail.yourdomain.co.uk.
  8. Set the port to 995 and tick Always use a secure connection (SSL).
  9. Click Add Account.

Step 3: Send Mail As Your Domain Address

  1. Still in Accounts and Import, under Send mail as, click Add another email address.
  2. Enter your name and your domain email address. Untick Treat as an alias if you want it fully separate.
  3. Click Next Step.
  4. Enter SMTP server: mail.yourdomain.co.uk, port 465, and select SSL.
  5. Enter your full email as the username and your password.
  6. Click Add Account. Gmail will send a verification code to that email.
  7. Check your domain email via webmail, find the verification code, and enter it in Gmail.

Setting as Default

To make your domain address the default sender, go back to Accounts and Import and click make default next to your domain email under Send mail as.
