Never Miss a Domain Renewal
Auto-renewal ensures your domain is automatically renewed before it expires, preventing any disruption to your website and email services. This is the safest way to manage domain renewals.
How to Enable Auto-Renewal
- Log in to your SillyHost client area.
- Navigate to Domains > My Domains.
- Click on the domain name to open its management page.
- Look for the Auto Renew setting and toggle it to On.
- Ensure you have a valid payment method on file (credit card or PayPal) under your account billing settings.
How Auto-Renewal Works
When auto-renewal is enabled, SillyHost will attempt to charge your default payment method 14 days before your domain's expiry date. If the payment succeeds, you will receive a confirmation email and your domain will be renewed for one year. If the payment fails, we will retry and notify you so you can update your payment details.
Managing Auto-Renewal for Multiple Domains
If you manage several domains, you can enable auto-renewal on all of them at once:
- Go to Domains > My Domains.
- Select multiple domains using the checkboxes.
- Click Bulk Actions > Enable Auto-Renew.
Important Considerations
- Ensure your payment method is up to date. Expired credit cards will cause auto-renewal to fail.
- Auto-renewal charges are based on the current renewal price at the time of processing, not the original registration price.
- You can disable auto-renewal at any time if you no longer wish to keep a domain. Simply toggle the setting back to Off.
- If you have account credit, it will be used before charging your payment method.
